Working with Ruben Smit

We are working with Ruben Smit, director of ‘De Nieuwe Wildernis’. At the moment, we are composing for his new items on TV. We both have an idea of where this might lead to… We’ll tell you more when the time is ripe!

Retour

Hanro Smitsman, director of the Corrino Media Group asked us to compose for RETOUR, featuring Sophie van Winden and Jeroen Spitzenberger. Retour is about Marie and Hendrik, whose only child drowns right before their eyes. Every year they commemorate this traumatic loss by returning to the beach where it happened. It is Marie’s and Hendrik’s ritual to be closer to their daughter, to remember her and the day she died. As if they can revive her by cherishing that awful day.

Achter de Brug

Filmmuziek Gertjan Eldering - Achter de Brug - Hans Heijnen

A compilation of our music for Hans Heijnen’s Achter de Brug. The documentary portraits the first inhabitants of the Noord-Oostpolder. Sea that was turned into land in 1942, mostly by hand. The people in the polder live in the shadow of the Ketelbrug; a bridge famous for leading its own life. The bridge is a symbol for the unstable relationship they have with the mainland. It brought them the new and the fast, but the tranquility of the polder most certainly has its charm too…

Despite her caring foster parents Sarah finds it very difficult to find her place in the family. She prefers to live with her mother.

Sarah can’t sleep at night and lies awake for hours. Will she find a solution to her sleeping problems and a way to feel more at home in her foster family?

Sarah’s Night has it’s première at Cinekid 2012, is on screen at IDFA and will be shown on national Dutch Television. It is also selected for the Toronto International Film Festival in April 2013 and numerous other festivals.
